Overdose Deaths Declining: Alumni Chad Jackson Quoted in Washington Post

A new article in The Washington Post covers a promising trend: DC opioid overdose deaths are significantly down for the first time since 2018, according to a report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. However, city officials have yet to determine the cause behind this decline.
Chad Jackson ’23, Chairman of the DC Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, weighs in at the end of the article:
There are still way too many deaths. Although it’s encouraging and I’m happy to see the reduction, I think we need to continue the fight. … This is certainly not the time to relax.
