This week, The Washington Post published an article on Trump’s pardoning of major drug traffickers, which some critics say is in direct opposition to his pledge to ‘crack down’ on the illegal flow of drugs into the United States. In the article, MS ADPP Director Regina LaBelle comments on the efficacy of Trump’s drug policies and approach.
“On one hand,” Professor LaBelle added via LinkedIn, “the administration is carrying out lethal strikes on Venezuelan boats allegedly involved in trafficking; on the other, it continues issuing pardons for drug traffickers and money launderers. Carrying out these strikes while signaling that it’s open season for money launderers portrays not only a lack of seriousness, but undermines international cooperation.” Read more in The Post.
