Embracing Our Own Stories: Mobilize Recovery’s Campus Surge at Georgetown

This Tuesday, our program was honored to welcome friends, students, and alumni to campus for our Campus Surge event with Mobilize Recovery. The event brought together passionate advocates and organizations including Community Bridges, Caron Treatment, Hoyas for Recovery, Hoya DOPE Project, Truth Initiative and Song for Charlie, to name just a few. We were also proud to see Georgetown University Addiction Policy & Practice Program students, alumni, and professors coming together to support recovery and break the stigma around substance use disorder. It was also a treat to hear from American Idol winner Noah Thompson to top off the event.
Our program graciously thanks Noel Vest, Ryan Hampton, Garrett Hade, and the entire Georgetown and Mobilize teams for making this event possible. Keep scrolling to view some pictures and a highlight reel from the event (note that the highlight reel discusses substance use disorder, assault, and overdose).
We’re proud to say that our students are already making a difference in the recovery field…and they’re just getting started. Join us for our next information session on October 20th to learn about joining the next cohort of addiction policy leaders: https://addictionpolicy.georgetown.edu/prospective-students-3/
