In partnership with Hoyas for Recovery, the Master of Science in Addiction Policy and Practice program at Georgetown’s School of Health, and the O’Neill Institute’s Center on Addiction and Public Policy, Mobilize Recovery is bringing Campus Surge 2025 to Georgetown on Tuesday, October 7th, from 11 AM to 2 PM EST. This event is part of a nationwide effort among college communities to dismantle barriers, raise awareness, and champion the vital truth that hope, healing, and recovery are achievable for everyone.
The day begins with a resource fair on the University’s Red Square, featuring representatives from community organizations, including DC Recovery Advocacy Project, HIPS, The Truth Initiative, and Song for Charlie. Find out how to save a life with naloxone, engage with others in the recovery community, and learn about the latest community-based addiction advocacy efforts.
The event includes a complimentary lunch in the Copley Formal Lounge and a discussion of Campus Recovery efforts on college campuses. Hear from Boston University’s Dr. Noel Vest, who will join with members of Hoyas for Recovery to discuss the importance of building communities of recovery on campuses. The panel discussion will be followed by a performance from the 2022 American Idol Winner, Noah Thompson.
