This May, we’re proud to release the 2024 ADPP Alumni Employment Report, which highlights the achievements of the talented graduates of Georgetown’s Master of Science in Addiction Policy & Practice (ADPP) program.

This year’s report reaffirms the powerful impact our alumni are making across the addiction policy field and across the country, breaking down their career paths 6 months post-graduation.

Some highlights from the report:

  • Over 95% of alumni secured employment or continued education within 6 months of graduation, a testament to the program’s real-world relevance and personalized career development resources.
  • Top employment sectors include Non-Profit Organizations (44%), State Government ( 22%), Healthcare (11%), Federal Government (11%), and the Legal Sector (11%).
  • 56% of our alumni are growing their careers in the DMV area, while others are now leading efforts in Texas, Oregon, and California.

Overall, our graduates are stepping into critical roles in the field, working as prevention specialists, policy fellows, senior policy analysts, and more. Their work reflects the comprehensive education our program offers, blending public health, criminal justice, clinical science, and evidence-based policy to prepare future leaders in the fight against addiction.

As Thaddeus Wientzen ’24 shares:

ADPP caters to people from all walks of life with an interest in addiction because there is a need for voices from all types of people with diverse backgrounds.

We are proud to see our alumni applying their knowledge, empathy, and skills to drive meaningful change in the addiction policy landscape. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2025 later this week at their Commencement Ceremony! Read the full report via Simplebooklet.
